Valentine Topiaries

I saw this idea here, and knew I had to do it. I love the soft look of the felt and all the dimensions of the folds. I wanted mine a little taller. And less busy. So I bought terra cotta jars and painted them cream. Got some bright moss and threw it all together.

I used left over sticks I had from another project, and I love the richness of the color.
They are sweet aren't they? And wait until you see what else I'm doing with them :)

And the cute pouf balls. I didn't have enough pink to do them in alternating colors. I may need to buy some, cause the lonely red is kind of boring.
But oh so cute.
I wanted to add a bow to the front. Like on the topiaries.

Stain Cover up

Almost two, curious, with the climbing skills of a mountain goat...she found my pen drawer the other day, and this is what I found:

I tried and tried to get it out. For days. Rubbing alcohol, hairspray, sanitizer...it got lighter,but never went away. So I gave up. And decided to cover up.
I think it turned out cute. And it didn't slow her down a bit!

Heart felt wreath

I'm on the ball this month!! I'm making valentines decor in time to have them up this year. This is the first of a few projects. I stole the idea from here. As well as other projects to be finished.

I did count how many circles I used, which was 124. It was a little shy of 3/4 yard. But I would use the whole 3/4 and really fill it in. I skimped around the edges, and it's still beautiful from the front, but from the side you can see it's not all the way filled. I finished mine a little different. I hot glued some tulle to the back (after I formed it how I wanted it to be) and then backed it all in red felt. That way from any angle you only see red. And we have a glass door so from the inside of the house your not staring at an unfinished back of wreath. It's not that neat and pretty, but it's better than white, unfinished!

Last minute Christmas work

I finished my jingle garland. I love the finished look with bells. Super cute.


I ordered this vinyl kit last year from Becky. You supply the plate, etching cream and labor :) It was really easy and now we have a special plate just for Santa.
This year I ordered some snowflakes to go around a mug. Santa needs milk with his cookies, so why not a special mug?
We are officially ready for tomorrow night!
And every girl needs a cute tree to put in her hair!

Christmas decor part 2

I got these paper mache presents at Hobby Lobby last year for $0.10 each.

This year I covered them with cute paper.

I made this "Noel" banner last year. But thought it was lacking.

After:

So this year I added tiny pendants between each letter, garnished with a beautiful crystal. MUCH better.

This year I made two more banners. "Believe" and "Jingle".
I embossed each frame and white backing. It's adds texture and interest. And now after using my friends cuttlebug, I have decided I will own one.
The "Jingle" is not quite complete. I still need to hang some bells off it.
3-D ornament art. I think it turned out really cute.
And now it sits by my other ornaments.
And finally some ruffled Christmas trees. I will be replacing the one in front with a beautiful white or gold...but for now this is it.
With layer upon layer of ruffles.

Christmas Decor part 1

Front Room:

I caved this year and got a fake tree, for the husband. with the contingency that we still get a real tree, but SMALL. so here is our sad, undecorated tree. But the lights look great.




Family Room:

We finally got the last pieces to complete our nativity. 6 years in the making, and totally worth it.
Stockings that my grandma makes us.I've had mine since I was a little girl. My husband got one as soon as he entered the family. And now the kids have on too!
They're so beautiful and meaningful to me.
My christmas countdown that I will re-do one day.....

My sad porch. I'm in the process of weeding out all our blue/silver/white decorations. We want to stay more traditional with red's, green's, gold's, so for now our porch has on red tree (hopefully to be joined with it's taller green brother and multi wreath sister after christmas)
