For my girls

For my girls this year I wanted to make them pajamas. They turned out okay. But I literally didn't have the time to do anything else. It's amazing these got done in time for our mini vacation.

My older daughter is always putting my shirts on. This particular shirt I never wore. So I took it in, added some hearts and a cute aplique. And now it's her nightgown.
Pretty simple, pretty cute.
My youngest daughter got pants and a shirt. I took an old pair of my jammie pants. (That I got for Valentines Day YEARS ago.) And turned them into jammie pants for her. Added four layers of ruffles...which looks A LOT cuter on. And paired it with a wal-mart shirt. I added the cute hearts..and Viola. Valentine jammies for my girls.

Thanksgiving, part 2

I almost finished everything I wanted to do for Thanksgiving... on my list was a garland for my mantel...well it turned out HUGE and doesn't fit across my mantel. So I'll make a smaller one next year...I'm not sure where this'll end up, but I loved how it turned out. You can't see the cute detail. But it really is beautiful.

I sewed crepe paper, ruffled it and formed them to make ovals. Then I cut out scalloped ovals to lay on top, and embossed them with a pretty branch design. The triangles with an empty eyelet will hold a beautiful crystal as soon as they come in the mail!
I saw this cute turkey placemat design and had to do it.....

...four times, they turned out so cute.
And for the girls...cute turkey clips that I copied from the same blog as the place mats!
And I thought how cute would that turkey be on a shirt? But with more color to match the clips? So I made one for both my girls.

And had to put this on the back.

For Marissa

A boy! They're not as fun to make things for, but I'm getting better at coming up with ideas.

So for Marissa (my visiting teacher)

Cute matching burp cloth and taggie toy.
A Onsie, copying the colors. A distressed truck. I love how the edges are darker and rugged. I used the Home Decor cartridge for the front and back.
And on the back...
And some cute brown shorts with a "C" for Charlie. I found this "C" pre-made at Hobby Lobby! Super cute all I did was iron on and top stitch!

For Mackenzie

Another girl. So, more cuteness. I copied this EXACTLY from one my cute friend made me! I LOVE it.

A bookmark

We ALWAYS get my father in law a book for his birthday. ALWAYS. He is hard to shop for...anyway.. I thought I'd make him a bookmark to go along with it. It was a simple project and took about 1/2 hour. I made it so there is a place to keep your pen, and slip a notecard if you like to jot notes while you're reading.

But honestly it will be used just for a bookmark, and it's pretty cute. I put his name on the ribbon by using the freezer paper method. I used puffy paint, which I now know is not good. It puffs away fine detail. I LOVE it for other projects, but not small names...and next time I think I'll use interfacing. Other than that I love how it turned out.

Gifts for nieces

I did these a while ago and just now found the pictures!

For my nieces birthday I decided to make them some personalized items..

A covered note book (inspired by the ones I did for the girls church books) with their initial on it. I used their favorite color and added buttons to spruce it up. Then I sewed elastic to the inside back cover, so they could keep it closed if wanted...

Then I made them lounge pants. My older Niece Tori LOVES owls. (The same one I did little notebooks with) So I free-handed a stencil with freezer paper and painted an owl on, then I used fabric to give it more texture and detail.
On the back I put her name. (Using the cricut to cut out the letter stencil)

She LOVES monkey's so I came up with this for her pant.
I didn't take pictures of the rest..but I think they really liked it.

For Melanie

My friend Melanie is having a boy, her third child, and first son. I'm very excited for her...

So I made her a burp cloth and matching onsie. Does the monster look Asian? I knd of think he does...

And a hooded towel. It was my first time making one. I didn't love the tutorial I followed..I'll change a few thing next time. I don't like how pointy it is..but it did turn out pretty cute. And I love the stripes.

Boomin' with babies!

My friends are all pregnant, or recently pregnant. (pretty much) So between all of them (and a b-day present for my daughter's friend) I have been busy making 8 presents for babies! So expect a lot of posts to follow. This one was for my friend Somer, expecting boy #2

For some reason I was in a theme mood. Stars. I wrapped it all up in a star bag, with a star tag. Let's see what's inside...



First off a Star themed sign. I decided to try to make it weather proof so she could hang it on her door to avoid those pesky doorbell ringers...I coated it all in mod-podge. BAD idea. It kind of looks unfortunate, but it will do the job...
Now a star bib, taggie toy, and burp cloth. And notice that the paper and fabric match!
This won't seem cool, because you don't have a frog named pock with an orange dot on his shoulder...but they do! This stencil was a PAIN to make! But I LOVE how it turned out!
