Halloween Shirt

I just realized, a week or so ago, that my 3 year old doesn't have any Halloween shirts! I looked through her clothes and noticed a plain white shirt that she NEVER wears. So I transformed it!

It was actually really easy. All I did was iron on some heat and bond on the back of a scrap of suede cloth. On the paper backing of the heat and bond I drew a spider web. I used a separate piece for the string and spider. I cut out all the negative pieces and viola, I have an applique. I ironed it on the shirt where I thought it looked best, and topstitched it down. I love how the web turned out. As I was cutting, I noticed that the lines were far from perfect. But I love how it adds spookiness to the look.

Halloween Decorations

Okay, so this year I'm really liking the placement of most of my decorations. So I had to capture it, so I can duplicate it next year. There are some areas I don't love, but they require more/different decorations that I'll have to buy or make..

Halloween Bags

I FINALLY finished. I made my older daughter, Aubree, this cute bag for trick or treating (with the never ending patience and teachings of my cute Aunt...) and I knew I wanted to make one for her little sister, when she was able to use it. I bought enough paper ahead of time. A few months ago, I realized that my younger daughter, Sophie, would in fact be actively participating in Halloween this year. So I had to make her bag too.

And they turned out SO cute.

A spider for Aubs.
A witch for Soph. ( I think I need to move "p" down. It's driving me crazy!)
The edges are all sewn together with boondoggle. And I love the detail.
I made they're bags matching, in opposites.
With coordinating paper on the sides. They love them and use them a lot more than just for Halloween. Now I need to make them more themes so I can change out the papers and get more use out of it.

And a non holiday theme for church and the library...

Halloween in August ((by me))

My friends and I had a craft night, to make some Halloween banners. It wasn't fun trying to find cute Halloween paper in August. But they did turn out beautiful. You'll have to click on the picture to get a better look.

I decided to make a "beware"

And "creepy"
We used the baby boy mini cartridge to cut the panels out. And the Halloween cartridge for the rest. Both were designed by my friend Natalie. (She amazes me) The beautiful frame has skull images on the corners. So cute. It was kind of a pain to punch out all the little pieces. But worth it. And the font is perfect! We cut out rectangles of white paper to put behind the frames, and the letters on top of. On the bottom of the panel we punched a hole (the smaller side on my crop-a-dile) added an eyelet and put a beautiful crystal on the bottom. We cut one inch strips of black broad cloth to tie all the panels together with a pretty bow.
And for the last detail..silver glitter around the edge of the black frame. This was really simple. You just use a glue pen to draw your line around the frame. Add glitter, shake, and let dry.
I'm excited to put these up this Halloween.
