Wrapping

One of my crafty goals this year is to wrap my presents a lot cuter than I have in the past.
I got some punches to make paper flowers.  I don't LOVE how this one turned out...but it is better than what I would have done before.

I do LOVE how this one turned out.  I think I'll keep this punch, but probably not the other.
I added some leaves, and a little twine.
Very cute.

Boy onsies

I made a few boy onsies for my sister to take to a couple of showers.  First the space set.  One painted, one appliqued.

Then, my favorite set.  Two painted, one appliqued.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE the glasses and mustaches.  And since they're very simple they can pair with anything.
I used the freezer paper method, and free-handed some mustaches.
Same with the glasses.
With the aplique, I just used heat and bond.  I drew my image on the paper backing, (after being ironed on the fabric) cut it out, and ironed it on the onsie.  Easy peasy.

Visiting teaching Valentines Day

I don't take many pictures of my Visiting teaching treats.  But I loved these, so I snapped a few shots.

The powdered sugar dissolves pretty quickly (an hour-ish) so I had to sprinkle right before I left.  I think I ended up sprinkling them about 3 times :)

"I love you" sign

I LOVE Valentines decorations!  But this is my last project for this year.  I have a couple of ideas on the horizon, but I'm too excited to get going on plans for my daughters 3 year b-day, that they'll wait for next year.  So here is my cute "I love you" board.

I bought a 6'x12'' board at Lowes, and cut off 14''.  (I'll be using the rest for a LONG overdue project)
I painted it white.  Then I used my friend's alphabet stamp set along with my brown distressed ink.  Next I used pink paint to stamp over the brown "I", heart, and "u".  And then I finished it by sanding all the edges, and adding pink "stain" to all the distressed areas.  (I just watered down my pink paint A LOT to get a "stain" effect instead of painted effect)

Here it is on my wall

detail of the sanding and "staining"
Perfect way to end my Valentine crafting for the year.

Valentine shirts

I found this cute rhinestone applique from Hobby Lobby.  All you need now, is an iron and a shirt.  It takes about two minuets.  Then my friend had the brilliant idea to use the extra fabric from the tights to put in the middle of the heart and tie it all together.   All I did was iron on some wonder under, trace and cut the heart, and then iron it on the shirt :) fast, cute and homemade.

Tights from socks

I found these knee high socks at Target (adults).  It's really simple to turn them into tights for your little one.  First, have your little one put them on.  Match up the heels and pin where the excess is.
Flip them inside out and mark where the pin is.  Remove the pin.  Using your mark as a guide draw an arch of where to sew.
Sew along the line,
and trim off the excess (I kept my scraps for another project)
Repeat to other sock.
Take an old pair of tights, or a cheap new pair :) and cut off the legs.
sew on each leg, taking care to sew them facing the same way :) And viola, you have a new pair of tights.

They look a little funny until they're on, but no one can tell what's really underneath.
and really no one should be looking, but it's there....
Now she's ready for her Valentines party.

Heart ornaments and garland

I have this sweet garland chain on my banister.  I added some hanging heart ornaments last night.  It was really easy to make, and I love how they compliment each other.

Close up of the ornaments.  I strung some floss through beads and buttons for the top.  Repeated 4 more times :)

Heart stand

I got this fabulous candlestick holder at the D.I. for $0.50.  I love the shape and detail of it.

I gave it two coats of "October Brown" and had a rich color to match with my decor.
I flipped it upside down (which I do with MOST of my stands) and glued it to my cute heart bowl.
I LOVE the extra height, it looks perfect on my table.

Another new addition.  My printable collage table.  I had a few printables last year, but it seems like I have found a MILLION this year, and some I just couldn't not have...so it became this:
